BIG HEAD is an ever-changing public artwork created by Jerry Beck and influenced by the colossal head sculptures from Mexican's Olmec civilization. The 14' x 6' x 6' steel contoured head was designed as a monument to provoke attention, contemplation, and action. As with the Olmec heads, the heads is always adorned with distinctive elements. The BIG HEAD promotes the importance of collaboration and has featured a range of multi-media components including video monitors in the eyes, sound, kinetic features, performance and interactive elements.
